Pomeranian Breed Standard

Today I thought we'd discuss the Pomeranian breed standard, the bible on what all reputable and registered breeders should be trying to achieve with each puppy they produce.

Whenever you are looking to purchase a puppy, please ensure the breeder is registered with the Australia National Kennel Council and the corresponding organisation in the state the puppy is from (e.g. Dogs ACT, Dogs NSW, Dogs QLD), this will help ensure your puppy is bred with the breed standard in mind and within ethical, loving conditions.

So what is it breeders are actually looking for in this standard? Let's have a look!

This is the breed standard as of 2014, it is what the breed is defined as and what breeders are looking to preserve. Of course, no dog is perfect and a pet pom often won't meet all these standards, hence not staying in the breeders program. However, having this standard is essential for breeders to know what they are looking for and what we love about this wonderful toy breed.

So when you go to look for your Pomeranian companion, make sure this is what your breeder lives by!

Thanks for reading all!
